CSP Today

The Social Network for Concentrated Solar Power Professionals

So far, everything I've seen is mostly about projects, RPS, PPAs, things like this. As a former industry analyst myself (VP, E-Business Strategies, META Group, now part of Gartner, the world's largest IT advisory service), I'd like to see much more in depth data, projections, and competitive positioning, even some technological forecasting (qualitative and quant). Think of this as a Gartner MQ -- Magic Quadrant, IDC report with a lot of numbers, an industry overview from the likes of an i-banker, a RAND report, things like this.
Lux has great stuff, but it isn't what I'm looking for. And I've read the Executive Summary from the new "Global Concentrated Solar Power Markets and Strategies, 2007-2020" report and it isn't what I'm looking for, either. I don't want hand waving and interviews; I want real market research, both primary and secondary. Any suggestions/pointers?

BTW, I also need this for CPV. And, specifically within CSP, I need it for parabolic trough systems.

Cheers,

David Scott Lewis, SVP

Zytech Solar, Inc.

Thanks for the link Graham. Actually, I've not only seen the promo collateral, but I also have a copy of their Executive Summary. Not a lot of data in it.

Also, it looks like the report was written by a wind industry analyst. The reason I say this is that there is a lot of comparison between wind and solar, too much for my comfort.

Let's face it, wind vs. solar may be VERY important at a public policy level, but has almost ZERO importance at a corporate/practical level. I have NEVER met someone who told me that they're going to chose between a solution provided by us, Zytech Solar, and a wind or biomass solution. The technical director was chosen before I ever entered the loop.

Take this a step or two further, like with solar modules on houses, and you can see that the comparisons with wind are nearly worthless. A passing review (in one paragraph or exhibit) is fine, but the report has too much wind power in it from what I can tell.

Thanks for your feedback, Priyanka. So, you've read the EER report? Sounds like it.

I look forward to meeting you next month.

Cheers ...

I think the EER report does have quite a bit of data if you go through the chapters. The executive summary does not have nearly as much of the detailed data that you seem to be looking for.
