Dwayne Lawrence NY Times: The Energy Challenge - Turning Glare Into Watts

The New York Times March 6, 2008 The Energy Challenge - Turning Glare Into Watts By MATTHEW L. WALD BOULDER CITY, Nev. — At first, as he adjusted pumps and checked temperatures, Aaron Boucher looked like any technician in the control room of an electrical plant. Then he rushed to the window and scanned the sky, to check his fuel supply. Mr. Boucher was battling clouds, timing the operations of his power plant to get the most out of patchy sunshine. It is a skill that may soon be in gre… Continue

John Ballam Ressurection of Congressional Renewables ITC Bill - call for emails/letters

House Dems are again trying to get long-term ITC passed for renewables.. Bill is HR5351 (Charles Wrangel NY). Passage is virtualy assured in House - but again there will be a struggle in the Senate. Last time cloture vote failed by one vote - Sen Landrau , LA. It is vital that US voters ( and any willing others as well) in our community begin to write and email our Senators ASAP to urge their support. This is espcially true for anyone from Louisianna or from any Republican district , especilall… Continue

Scott Ledger I'm listening to the Beatles... "Here comes the Sun"

Hey Everybody. I just saw Infinia has added more info on their 08 release of Stirling Solar. found here. http://www.infiniacorp.com/applications/clean_energy.htm

Their Stirling engine is linear and very streamlined. From the size of the people in the picture, I'd guess it's between a 10ft and a 12ft Dish.

I don't post often...lots of change in my personal life. But as the months progress, I'm looking forward…

Greetings,

I hope this new thread can facilitate a CSP Today BOAF gathering at the Summit. I'll be flying in from China and hope to meet as many CSP Today members as possible.

BTW, I came to China four years ago from the Bay area, so it's still my home. If you'd like some ideas on what to do, what to see while you're there, just let me know.

I'll be spending the evenings a bit down south (about 30 miles south of the City) in Silicon Valley proper, more specifical… Continue

Belén Gallego Upsetting article - US Energy Bills Could Cost Economy $1 trillion by 2030

What a surprise- oil companies are commissioning reports that say that renewable energies will cost the economy a lot- where have I heard that before?

I am upset at this kind of attack time and time again - not to CSP in particular but for renewable energy. The way I see it, the oil industry can no longer count on their lobbying to keep the mon
